RIMA KASHYAP has been a writer and journalist in many forms and media.
From copywriting at JWT (Mumbai) and FDS (Hyderabad and Bangalore) to
Bombay Correspondent of the JS magazine (Junior Statesman -- a youth magazine from the Statesman group); Reporter and news/ humour/ film and art columnist at the Indian Express, Bangalore; Bombay correspondent-- The Week magazine; Features Editor The Asian Age daily- Bangalore; Sunday Editor—the Daily, Bombay; Editor of CARE monthly, Bombay.
Through the years she was also:
Editor of the News channel of indya.com, Bangalore correspondent of Plus Channel and Business Plus- a monthly video channel, AIR programme broadcaster, teacher of journalism, freelance writer for motley journals. In her spare time she was a theatre actor and director, and book translator ("The Black Book" by Aabid Surti), sports afficiando and activist.
She studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School, Bombay and graduated with Hons in Philosophy from Elphinstone College, Bombay. She got her Bachelor of Journalism degree from Osmania University and a Master of Communication degree from BangaloreUniversity in between courses in Indian Aesthetics (Bombay), Women's Studies (Sophia's- Bombay) and Psychotherapy (SNDT- Bombay).
She has three children and six grandchildren as of date. She now lives in Bangalore, India.
